About this hijacker

Mystart.space is a dubious extension and a browser hijacker. It’s advertised as an extension that will allow you to customize your Google Chrome homepage but in reality, it’s something that should not stay on your computer. If you do not remember installing it, then it could have entered your computer via free software bundles, like most hijackers do. It’s not a malicious infection, although hijackers are not harmless.

Mystart-space

They change browser’s settings, and try to redirect you to sponsored sites, because that is the reason why they even exist. This hijacker will also collect your personal information and freely share it with anyone it wants, so think twice before you allow it to remain. In addition, it could redirected you to malicious content and that could lead to a malware infection. So remove Mystart.space.

How did the infection end up on your computer?

Browser hijackers are added to free software as extra offers and you need to make sure you deselect them. This is not difficult to do but because they are hidden, a lot of users simply miss them. When you install freeware, use Advanced or Custom settings. They will allow you to check for added offers, and if there is something, you can simply deselect it/them. Make sure you uncheck every single last offer because otherwise, you will be allowing all kinds of unwanted programs to install. You could have also installed it willingly, thinking it’s going to help you. Whichever way you installed it, we recommend you delete Mystart.space.

Why uninstall Mystart.space?

The extension is advertised a customizeable homepage that will supposedly make your browsing better. It may look nice at first, but it will make unnecessary changes to your browser and redirect you. If you did not install it willingly, then the changes will take you completely by surprise. They will only affect Google Chrome but you should not ignore it and just switch browsers. You will eventually need to remove Mystart.space. Until then, you will be stuck with a weird site as your homepage, and a new search engine. We do not recommend using the site, as the search engine might be inserting sponsored content into results so that it could redirect you. Some of those redirect could also be malicious and might lead to malware so be careful. You should also be aware that the hijacker will collect any kind of information you provide to it, including name, phone number, email address, etc. And their Privacy Policy states that they are free to share that information with anyone they want. So your data could end up in some really questionable hands. Delete Mystart.space immediately.

Mystart.space removal

You may need to obtain anti-spyware software and have it uninstall Mystart.space for you. If you want, you can also perform manual Mystart.space removal but that may take more time because the hijacker is hidden.
