Chrominio Message Center virus refers to a pop-up that claims you have to update your Chromium browser. A lot of users get confused about whether the pop-up is legitimate as it has the official Chromium logo in it, and no close button. However, it’s most certainly not an actual update.

The pop-up asking you to update will appear randomly as you browse and not allow you to close it. There will be no X button and Cancel. The only option you are given is “Configure”. The message in the pop-up will say that a new version of Chromium is available, and whether you’d like to install it. It asks if you want to install it but it doesn’t actually give you a choice. In this kind of situation, we would suggest you open Task Manager and end the process manually. You shouldn’t install the supposed ‘update’ because it would be some kind of virus infection. The pop-up may look legitimate at first sight due to the official logo used but these kinds of alerts are never legitimate. Erase Chrominio Message Center virus from Google Chrome
- Access menu (top right corner of the window) and pick Settings.
- Choose Extensions.

Remove Chrominio Message Center virus from Mozilla Firefox
- In the top right corner of the screen, press menu and choose Add-ons (or tap Ctrl+Shift+A simultaneously).
