Cookies are necessary for things like saving your set settings for a website or keeping you logged in on pages. If you don’t like cookies, you can change your browser’s settings to block them, or you can accept them but have them automatically deleted after you close the browser. You can also easily clear cookies by going to Options, then Privacy & Security and selecting Clear Data under Cookies and Site Data.

Do you need to delete cookies.sqlite?

You don’t. It’s a legitimate file that belongs to Mozilla Firefox. However, if you wish to clear your cookies, just follow the instructions we have provided above. We should mentioned that it’s not impossible for some kind of malware to disguise itself as this file in order to prevent you from deleting it. However, you can easily check if the file on your computer is legitimate by scanning your computer with anti-malware software. A security program should be active on your computer at all times because malware can enter anytime. If the anti-malware does detect this file as malware, then you do need to remove cookies.sqlite.
