What is Fmovies

Fmovies is a streaming site that allows users to watch films and tv series for free. As is the case with all sites that offer pirated content, the site is full of scams and malware, and users need to be careful. These sites aren’t exactly legal because they are full of pirated copyrighted content that users can watch for free but authorities have a hard time keeping up with them because if one closes, another one pops up. Fmovies

Most users know that sites like Fmovies could potentially be harmful and understand the risks but still visit them. It’s not particularly surprising because users really like free content, even if it comes with risks involved. We do not recommend visiting those sites but understand that not many will heed this warning. There are certain ways users can protect themselves when visiting free streaming sites like Fmovies, and we will explain them in this report.

It’s also possible that users are randomly redirected to Fmovies and other free streaming sites by adware. If this is happening to you, you need to check your computer for infections like adware. They’re pretty minor but quite annoying infections that need to be dealt with as soon as possible.

Can visiting sites like Fmovies result in a malware infection

It’s a known fact that free streaming sites show all kinds of questionable ads. They host pornographic, dating, questionable program ads, scams and any other kind of malicious content. The biggest problem with these sites is that clicking on anything cases an ad pop-up to appear. When visiting the site, even if you click on the search bar, an ad advertising questionable things appears.

Engaging with those ads is a very bad idea. You could be tricked into installing malware, or malware could install automatically. You could also be tricked into falling for a scam or revealing your personal information. Ads claiming you have won something are pretty common on free streaming sites and they do their best to convince users they have actually won something while luring out users’ personal information. Keep in mind that these “giveaways” are never legitimate. Companies like Google, Amazon, Apple, Facebook, etc., do not host giveaways nor do they just give out prizes to random people.

Browsing the Fmovies site, let alone watching anything on it is practically impossible with the amount of ads that appear. Adblocker seems to work to some extent, and should block the pop-ups from opening. However, even with adblock, visiting sites like Fmovies is a risk.

So watching pirated content and visiting sites that host them can absolutely result in a serious malware infection. You might not even notice how a download is triggered. And without anti-virus software, the infection could stay on the computer for months, silently stealing information/files, tracking what you do. You could also pick up less serious infections like adware, browser hijackers and potentially unwanted programs. While they aren’t as dangerous as let’s say a trojan, they can be incredibly annoying to deal with and could lead to more serious malware.

Next time you’re tempted to watch a movie or an episode of a TV series for free, consider the damage you could do to your computer. Or at least install adblocker so you can block the majority of those ads.

What to do if you have infected your computer with something via Fmovies

If you are a regular visitor of Fmovies or another streaming site, we strongly recommend you scan your computer with anti-virus software. If you don’t have security software installed, all kinds of infections could be currently inhabiting your device.

If you have downloaded something from an ad on Fmovies, you need to scan your computer with anti-malware software immediately. Do no try to delete Fmovies virus manually because you could end up doing more harm than good.

After you have gotten rid of all infection on your computer, be more careful about what content you engage with on sites like Fmovies, or actually don’t engage with that content at all. And always have adblock and anti-virus enabled to ensure your computer is secure.
