What is Pics4NewTab?
Pics4NewTab is a browser hijacker and a potentially unwanted application that enters systems through freeware bundles. When it gets access to your computer, it modifies your browser settings and makes other unwelcome and unnecessary changes. The app is used by its creators to make money for them through pay-per-click advertising, which means that it will flood you with ads at all times. As there is nothing useful about keeping adware installed on your PC, we suggest that you get rid of Pics4NewTab as soon as you can.
How does Pics4NewTab work?
As you already know, the bundling distribution method is used by Pics4NewTab and other potentially unwanted apps. Now that you know about it, you can avoid dealing with these applications as it is entirely possible. All you have to do is make sure that when you download and install software from third party sites, you should always choose the Advanced (or Custom) installation mode. That way, you will be able to deselect all additional components that will be offered to you. We assure you, none of them are beneficial and their only purpose is to monetize the free services.
The first action taken by Pics4NewTab is switching your browser settings, more specifically your home page and default search provider to www.4newtab.com. In addition to that, the program will also cause other modifications like inserting advertisements (pop-ups, links, coupons, etc.) into all pages that you decide to visit. You will no longer be able to browse the Web without slow downs and interruptions. Moreover, the adverts shown to you are not verified by the unwanted program, so they can lead you to unreliable websites containing scams. It is important that you keep that in mind and stay away from all advertisements for the time being. After you terminate Pics4NewTab, you will be able to surf the Internet with more ease once again.
