What is Television Ace Toolbar?
Television Ace Toolbar is a suspicious browser add-on that may be classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP). It’s a legitimate toolbar so you can obtain it from the official website. If, however, you do not remember downloading it, it must have entered your computer via software bundles. Which basically means you, yourself, allowed to it to install. Once it’s installed, it alters certain browser’s settings without your knowledge. Although Television Ace Toolbar is advertised as a tool that can allow you to watch TV shows online, if you use it, you will experience annoying redirects. Redirects can sometimes lead to dubious websites and you could accidentally download malware. Which is why we suggest you terminate Television Ace Toolbar.
Why should you uninstall Television Ace Toolbar?
If you do not recall installing the Television Ace box and toolbar, you must have recently installed free software and used Default settings. If freeware has something attached to it, Default settings will not show it and it will install automatically. If you want to avoid unwanted installations, use Advanced (Custom) settings. In those settings, you will be able to clearly view and deselect any added item. You need to make a habit out of this because you always need to be aware of what installs onto your computer.
When Television Ace Toolbar adds itself to your browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari), it will change certain settings. Your homepage, new tabs and search engine will be changed to hp.myway.com, which is known to be a browser hijacker. Usually when a PUP changes a browser’s settings, you cannot restore them unless you remove the PUP. So you need to delete Television Ace Toolbar if you don’t want a dubious website as your homepage. Reportedly, Television Ace Toolbar also inserts add everywhere. Those ads can be highly intrusive and pop-up everywhere. They will appear at the most random times, and again, unless you uninstall Television Ace Toolbar, you will not get away from them. This kind of behavior can be quite dangerous as you could be led to malicious websites and end up with malware on your compute. Most likely, Television Ace Toolbar just want to generate pay-per-click revenue by redirecting you to sponsored websites but there’s always a possibility that it could lead you to danger. We feel we should also note that Television Ace Toolbar is not a computer virus and will not directly harm your computer. Directly being the key word. PUPs usually do not belong on your computer, so we suggest you delete Television Ace Toolbar.
