About WeDownload manager
WeDownload manager is an adware program, advertised as a tool that helps to download files easier. Adware is commonly concealed as legitimate programs in order to encourage users to install them. They may appear as banners, pop-ups and redirects, the latter two of which will be incredibly annoying because they will disrupt your browsing. The contents of the ads will differ, you may get ads about great deals/discounts, you might be prompted to install some kind of software, or malware warnings may begin flashing on your computer.
We advise you to be skeptical of any great deals you see while adware is still installed. It’s more than likely that those great deals don’t actually exist and adware is just trying to make you engage with ads or scam you. Typically, those kinds of ads will offer huge discounts which may be hard to resits. However, keep in mind that if the deal seems to be too good to be true, it probably is.
You may also be offered to download software/an update by an advertisement. However, keep in mind that downloading anything from ads is not safe. If you are offered a program by an ad and it seems useful, research the program and if it’s legitimate, download it from the official site/store. Never trust ads to provide secure downloads. Furthermore, you can often encounter ads that claim you need to download an update, which is actually disguised malware. This is a known malware distribution technique. If you need an update, get it from legitimate sources.
Adware is also often the cause of ads that warn about malware on your computer. Those ads are fake, and are either trying to make you call the provided number or to frighten you into installing the offered program. If you called the number, you’d be scammed by people pretending to be professional technicians, and if you install the offered program, you’d end up with malware.
Overall, if you notice that adware has inhabited your computer, do not interact with ads until you get rid of it.
