About this PUP

WinThruster virus refers to a system optimization tool that is classified as a potential threat by many security tools. It can be regarded as potentially unwanted program (PUP) as well. The program works like an optimization tool that scans your computer and claims to fix various issues related to your system’s performance. Such optimization tools are very common but a lot of people question their necessity. WinThruster virus

A lot of tech specialists say that these kinds of programs don’t actually do anything. They detect minor issues as serious, can accidentally delete needed registries and disrupt usual computer behavior. Whether you use one or not is your decision, but we suggest you closely review WinThruster before buying it. The free version will allow you to scan your computer but in order to fix the identified issues, you will have to buy the program. And we don’t recommend doing that. And if you’re not going to use it, you should delete WinThruster virus.

These kinds of programs often use the bundling method to install onto your users’ computers because that allows them to install unnoticed. This method is used pretty commonly because users are rather notoriously inattentive when installing something.

How did it install?

Freeware often come with extra offers added to them. Those offers are allowed to install alongside, unless you deselect them. This is not difficult to do but because those offers are hidden, a lot of people miss them. What you need to do is choose Advanced (Custom) settings when installing freeware. Those settings will make all added offers visible and allow you to deselect everything. You simply need to uncheck the boxes. You can then continue installing the programs. Keep in mind that Default settings will neither show you the items, nor will they allow you to deselect anything. Thus, if Advanced is available, don’t use Default.

What does it do?

The system optimization tool will supposedly clean your computer from junk files and improve the computer’s performance. However, without paying for the full program, you will only be able to scan. The scans results will show you various issues that are supposedly effecting your computer in a severe way, but if you actually check the results, you might notice that the results show old registry entries. They don’t actually have an effect on your device, they’re just leftover files. If you press Fix Issues after the scan is complete, you will be asked to buy the full version. It’s currently $39.95 which is certainly a lot of money for a system optimizer. It’s also possible that some of those issues don’t even exist in the first place and are just displayed to make you more inclined to buy the program.

If you believe you need to use a system optimizer, there are more reliable ones out there which you can get for free. So you should look into them before even thinking about buying this tool.
