About this infection

MyCouponize is an adware program that is advertised as an extension that will show you various coupons and deals when you are shopping online. It is considered to be adware because it may sneak into your computer without you even realizing it. It could be added to freeware as an extra offer and if you did not deselect it, it would install.

GetCouponsFast Toolbar

That is how adware and hijackers usually spread. They are not dangerous by themselves but they do expose the user to certain danger. Both adware and hijackers redirect to questionable websites so if the user is not careful, he/she may end up with some sort of malware infection. And while you think this extension is a good shopping tool, you might want to look into the program further. A quick Google search will show you results referring to it as adware. So delete MyCouponize.

Adware distribution

If you have it installed, you either need to look into the programs you are installing closer or pay more attention to how you install freeware. Free programs usually come together with added offers, such as adware and hijackers. In order to avoid them, all you need to is deselect them during freeware installation. This is done in Advanced or Custom settings. Always choose those settings when setting up freeware, instead of Default, and you will be able to see all that has been added. There may not necessarily be something. But if there is, make sure you deselect everything. Having to remove MyCouponize would take more time than it would to uncheck it initially.

What does it do?

The extension is advertised as a shopping tool that will supposedly help you find the best deals when shopping. When you using a shopping website, pop-ups and banner ads will start appearing, providing competitive prices for the item you are viewing. Those ads will fill your screen and make it difficult to properly browser a store. And you cannot get rid of them unless you uninstall MyCouponize adware. We would not recommend trusting in the deals that the adware is showing you. Adware aims to generate money from you clicking on advertisements, so it could be making fake deals with fake prices just so you click on them. The more clicks you make, the more revenue the adware can generate. The adware will also start gathering certain kind of information about your browsing habits. This way, it could make the ads more appealing for you. You should just delete MyCouponize. It will only hinder your shopping.

MyCouponize removal

You can remove MyCouponize in two ways. If you choose manual MyCouponize removal, you will have to find the adware yourself, which may be a bit difficult but possible. If you are struggling, you can obtain anti-spyware software and have it uninstall MyCouponize for you.
