About this unwanted program

MirageISO is a potentially unwanted program, more specifically adware. The infection is advertised as a mounting tool, but it will connect to remote websites in the background and inject ads into the sites you visit.

MirageISO virusAdware is not a serious infection by itself but because it constantly exposes you to adverts, some might not be safe and you could end up with a serious infection by clicking on a seemingly harmless advertisement. If you don’t recall ever installing this tool, it probably entered your computer via freeware bundles. It was attached to freeware as an extra offer, and you did not notice. As a result, you are now seeing loads of adverts on your screen, and they are ruining your browsing experience. We suggest you uninstall MirageISO virus as soon as you notice it.

How to prevent these kinds of infections?

If you want to avoid adware and similar infections, you need to be more careful about how you install free programs. Unwanted items are often times attached to freeware as extra offers and in order to prevent their installation, you need to deselect them. Default settings do not allow you to do that so pick Advanced or Custom instead. If you notice extra offers, make sure you deselect them. Only after you have uncheck all offers should you proceed to install the freeware. Otherwise, you risk infecting your computer, and then you would be stuck having to remove MirageISO virus or similar infections.

Why delete MirageISO virus?

The program might seem useful at first, if you need to mount ISO files but after a while, you will notice that your screen is being filled with increasingly more adverts. They will even appear on sites that did not display ads before, or had very little of them. You browsing will further be interrupted by pop-ups appearing randomly, and weird redirects. This can affect most of the popular browsers, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. And you can’t prevent the ads unless you first uninstall MirageISO virus. The threat will access certain websites in the background and insert ads onto sites that you visit. Bear in mind that not all adware generated ads will be safe. Some could lead to malicious sites, and they could permit malware to infect your system. Be especially careful not to install anything from banners or pop-ups. Oftentimes, malware is advertised as some kind of essential update on websites. It flashes an ad that your computer is at risk and you need to install the promoted tool, or that your Flash Player is out of date. Never download anything from advertisements. If you want an a program or an update, go to legitimate/trustworthy websites. And remove MirageISO virus immediately.
