About PC Protector Plus

PC Protector Plus is a questionable anti-malware program and a PUP (potentially unwanted program). Developed by Jawego Partners LLC, it promises to protect you from various computer threats. Before we continue, we need to make it clear that PC Protector Plus is not malware, nor is it malicious, it is a legitimate anti-malware application. The reason PC Protector Plus is considered to be a PUP is because it can enter your computer without your knowledge. Some might even classify it as adware as it displays pop-ups. We think you should look for alternatives and delete PC Protector Plus from your computer.

How did PC Protector Plus end up on my computer?

Potentially unwanted programs are usually bundled together with freeware. PC Protector Plus is the same. It’s attached to certain free software so that it can install automatically when you install the freeware. It is an optional item and you don’t have to install it, but because users are not aware of it being attached to the freeware, it installs automatically. You can only see what is attached to freeware if you use Advanced or Custom settings. Those settings also allow you to uncheck all added items, therefore preventing their installation. So if you unknowingly installed PC Protector Plus, you must have used Default settings during freeware installation. PC Protector Plus also has a legitimate website where you can download it, so you might have gotten it this way as well. We don’t recommend you keep it on your computer and suggest you remove PC Protector Plus.

Why should I uninstall PC Protector Plus?

While PC Protector Plus is a legitimate program, we think there are better options. When you download PC Protector Plus, it will offer to scan your computer. When it does and detects a computer threat, it will offer to fix it. Not for free, of course. If you wish to delete detected threats, you will have to buy the full version for $59.95. There is a special discount offered, so you can buy it for $39.95. And when you close their page, a pop-up appears saying that you can buy it half price. It has also been reported that if PC Protector Plus is installed onto the computer, the user will see various ads. Some specialists even consider PC Protector Plus adware. If you’re looking for a reliable program capable of protecting you from computer threats, you might be better off looking at PC Protector Plus alternatives. Seriously consider if you should not remove PC Protector Plus.
