Professional scammers are usually at the other end of the line and they try to get remote access to the victim’s computer so that they can steal information and install unwanted programs while pretending to fix the issues. By the end of the session, users are asked to pay hundreds of dollars for these services. Adware is also known to collect information about users, and it usually includes sites visited, searches, location, etc. The information can later be used to generate more personalised ads.
