About WinThruster
WinThruster is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) that is promoted as a system optimization tool. PUPs are usually not malicious nor very dangerous but they rarely belong on your computer. They are referred to as potentially unwanted for a reason. WinThruster will offer you to fix and optimize your computer, for a price, of course.
When it installs, it will try to convince you that there are tens or even hundreds of issues and that is why your computer might be running slow. But this service is not free. System optimizers and whether they are actually needed have been discussed many times by specialists and we are certain of one thing, it is not worth the price it is asking. There are better, free options out there. And if you’re curious about how it installed onto your computer, it was probably attached to freeware as an extra item, that you unknowingly missed. Do not trust such a program. Delete WinThruster instead.
Should you uninstall WinThruster?
If you do not recall downloading the PUP yourself, it must have entered your computer together with some free program. A lot of free software comes together with extra items, such as various kinds of PUPs, adware and browser hijackers. They will install automatically alongside the freeware, unless you manually prevent it. You can only do that by either not install free programs or by using Advanced or Custom settings during installation. Those settings will allow you to see what has been added and if there is something, you can deselect it/them. This will block it/them and you can continue to install the freeware. Rushing is not recommended, nor is using Default settings because you will end up missing all kinds of unwanted programs.
When you install WinThruster, it will perform a scan on your computer and claim that you have various severity level issues. It claims that they are slowing down the system. The thing is, it states that old registry entries are the cause, but they usually do not influence your computer in a noticeable way. And if you wish to fix the problems, you have to go Premium, which is $39.95/per year. There are better, free tools that can do the same thing so paying is really not reasonable. This is why we suggest you remove WinThruster. And if you do not buy the subscription, you may be bombarded with ads saying that you should. WinThruster will not do anything a free optimizer cannot, so do not think about buying the full version, and delete WinThruster.

Step 1. Uninstall WinThruster and related programs.
Remove WinThruster from Windows 8
Right-click in the lower left corner of the screen. Once Quick Access Menu shows up, select Control Panel choose Programs and Features and select to Uninstall a software.
Uninstall WinThruster from Windows 7
Click Start → Control Panel → Programs and Features → Uninstall a program.
Delete WinThruster from Windows XP
Click Start → Settings → Control Panel. Locate and click → Add or Remove Programs.
Remove WinThruster from Mac OS X
Click Go button at the top left of the screen and select Applications. Select applications folder and look for WinThruster or any other suspicious software. Now right click on every of such entries and select Move to Trash, then right click the Trash icon and select Empty Trash.
