What is Globe Locker virus?
Globe Locker virus is a ransomware infection that can infiltrate your system without your notice. It aims at making profit off of computer users by encrypting their files. The threat usually spreads online through spam email attachments, however, you may get infected in other ways as well. Unlike other malicious programs of this type, it uses the Blowfish encryption method instead of the AES encryption. The parasite corrupts your data files and it may also affect the files stored in the Program files folder. How does Globe Locker virus work?
At the moment, the virus mostly targets computers located in Central Asia, however, that does not mean that it cannot infect your system, if you live elsewhere. This file also replaces your desktop background.
The message in the ransom note states that your files have been encrypted and that in order to recover them, you will have to pay the hackers. It also states that in order to do so, you need to create a Bitcoin wallet and contact the criminals via email for further instructions. Needless to say, paying the so-called ransom is not the best idea. There is no way to know that you will actually receive the decrypt program. Even if you do, the program itself may be malicious as well. That is why we advise that you eliminate Globe Locker virus without taking any additional risks.
