What is Shigo ransomware?
Shigo ransomware is a new ransomware type of virus that can encrypt your files. It is a very new ransomware therefore, not much information is known about it. It’s safe to say that it uses the same distribution method as hundreds of other ransomware, spam emails. All you need to do is open a malicious email attachment and the virus will download onto your computer. It will encrypt files and then demand that you pay to get them back. We never suggest paying the ransom because in a lot of cases, ransomware creators take the money and not give you a way to decrypt your files. What does Shigo ransomware do?
Despite many warning not to, many users still carelessly open malicious spam email attachments. That is the main distribution method. In some cases, malware researchers are able to create free decryption tools for ransomware, so you might want to wait for that instead of paying. If you had backup prior to the infection, you can use that to access your files. But first you must delete Shigo ransomware. If you did not have backup, now is a good time to invest in one. Step 1. Delete Shigo ransomware using Safe Mode with Networking.
Remove Shigo ransomware from Windows 7/Windows Vista/Windows XP
- Click on Start and select Shutdown.
- Choose Restart and click OK.
- Start tapping F8 when your PC starts loading.
- Under Advanced Boot Options, choose Safe Mode with Networking.
- Open your browser and download the anti-malware utility.

- On the Windows login screen, press the Power button.

- Click the Power button on the Windows login screen.
